Welcome to my life.
Its been a long time sense I've done any type of blogging.
I'm really motivated too mainly due to a music blog I am building.
Nothing on it yet but some layout work, but I'm working on loading it up soon.
I'm thinking I'm going to start with the Kyuss QOTSA Split.
Matt may disagree but I feel its the perfect introduction as too who Kyuss the founders of Stoner Rock was and who the Queens of the Stone Age are.
The kyuss half of it contains a Black Sabbath cover, Into The Void.
I like it as an intro track to the record because they show there roots first off.
The following tracks (Fatso Forgotso and Fatso Forgotso Phase II) are not the greatest Kyuss tracks of all time, but are very very solid and show the heavy psychedelic journeys that are very common with Kyuss.
I'd say its something that would transition a listener nicely into Blues For A Red Sun.
The Queens tracks on the other hand are straight golden.
The first track is an early version of If Only, called If Only Everything.
Its softer an friendlier then the album version.
The next track is called Born To Hula which shows off some nice "Robot Rock" style.
Its pretty driven and follows If Only Everything really well.
The last track Spiders and Vagaroons is a nice instrumental.
I didn't mean this post to turn into glorified self love of my upcoming music blog.
But shit happens.
